What is it like to work with us?

process

What does “bespoke design” mean?

  • We look at each project through the lens of a unique protagonist with a storyed history. Every building reveals its own architectural, cultural, and historical nuances, and we help you layer in new life tailored to how you wish to use the space.
Sounds great! How do I get started?

  • Drop us a line. We would love to connect and learn more about your project. Every project is unique, we can prepare a proposal and outline a scope of work specifically tailored to your project.
Where are you located & what's your service area?

  • Planwell is based out of the South Shore of Massachusetts, in the coastal town of Scituate. We primarily serve projects located in the Boston and the surrounding Greater Boston metros. We are licensed to stamp architectural documents for projects located in MA.
  • For projects in other states, we typically take on a role as a Design Director, creating a team of local qualified professionals to collaborate with on executing your vision.
What size projects do you work on?

  • Planwell only takes on smaller bespoke projects, allowing us to provide a higher level of service and focus squarely on the details authentic to your project. For Architectural and Interior Design projects, we work with residential clients of any size, and commercial office or hospitality projects under 10,000 sf. For larger projects, we offer Design Direction and Management services, creating a team of professionals to collaborate with on executing your vision.
What makes you different from other design firms?

  • Planwell’s founder comes from a background in both Architecture and luxury Real Estate Development. Drawing on experience from both industries, we have learned to cultivate the power design has in driving value in real estate. For a project to be successful, it needs the right team, clear success metrics and communication, proper planning, mindful tracking of budgets and schedules, and insight into how to balance those often competing priorities.
  • Some design firms have teams of hundreds structured for a portfolio full of large projects. Behind the scenes you may not know who is attending to your project. You will work directly with Planwell’s founder and principal architect, Cheryl Bratsos, AIA.
